Sunny-day Flooding

This video was taken to record the moment and spatial extent of a sunny-day flooding event in North Miami on October 7, 2021, using a drone. This video helps understand the potential impacts of sea level rise on Southeast Florida.

In the video, you can find areas flooded due to a king tide coming right after a storm event. Storm water in the storm water drainage system of the areas could not be discharged as the raised tide water blocked its outlet. The elevation of storm water trapped in the drainage system increased as high as that of the raised tide water, and then storm water came out of storm water collection pits located below the level of the raised tide water in topographically depressed areas.
